LOW-CALORIE PASTA FAGIOLI

One of my favorite meals to make for the family that’s is low in calories and great tasting.  You can swap out many of the ingredients to meet your family’s needs and tastes.  It is very simple to make when you are tight on time.  Give it a try and let me know what you think and how I can make it better!

LOW-CALORIE PASTA FAGIOLI

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. Ground Turkey

  • 3 oz diced celery

  • 32 oz jar of Michael’s Marinara Sauce

  • 2 tbsp minced garlic

  • 1 tbsp Avocado oil

  • 2.5 oz diced carrots

  • 64 oz chicken broth

  • 15.5 oz can dark red kidney beans

  • 15.5 oz can white Cannellini beans

  • 1 cup Ditalini pasta

  • 28 oz can San Marzano peeled tomatoes

  • 5 oz diced yellow sweet onion

Directions

  • Put the plastic liner in the crock pot.
  • Add a jar of marinara sauce and chicken broth.
  • Dice onion, carrots, and celery. Add to crock pot.
  • Add minced garlic.
  • Drain and rinse dark kidney and Cannelini beans. Add to crock pot.
  • On medium-high heat, add avocado oil and ground turkey to the frying pan and cook until brown. Make sure the ground turkey doesn’t stick to the pan as it naturally has very little fat to coat the pan with. The avocado oil will help the ground turkey not to stick to the pan. 
  • After the ground turkey is browned, add it to the crock pot. Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6-8 hours. Add the tomatoes and pasta 1 hour before serving. Before adding the tomatoes, hand squeeze the tomatoes into smaller chunks. 
  • Serve with fat-free parmesan cheese or top with low-fat cheese of your choosing.

  1. Hi, I first saw you on Tik Tok and OMG! You are my inspiration. You inspire me to get the moving. I am 57 yrs old female and had not one but two gastric bypass. My heaviest was 387lbs, my lowest I ever got was 289. My current weight is now 320lbs.. it feels like I am diminishing to my grave! I will be lying if I didn’t say I didn’t know the cause.
